Soccer Heroes

Ann Cook They come in many sizes and shapes but if you’ve been in the game for awhile, you’ve had one or more of them. One of my earliest was Karl Heinz Rumminegge.

Since coming to the Ozarks in 2002 I’ve looked to local products. I think it’s safe to say we have documented pretty well the two most recent classes and their efforts on the larger stage. The largest stage we can all aspire to is the World Cup. While we have not yet had a player perform on that stage, we do have an individual who has represented the US on the pitch.

I had a chance to catch up with Ann Cook (Glendale 199x) for coffee earlier this week while she is in town visiting her family for the holidays. Ann is currently an assistant coach for the University of Nebraska women’s team. I asked if she would meet with me so that I could begin documenting her experiences learning the game here in Springfield as part of my Springfield History project. She was kind enough to do just that. This will be an opening effort on my part to share with you the growth of the community and in this case, the individual success that can be achieved.

Ann grew up playing soccer here Continue reading “Soccer Heroes”

Happy Holidays

The Winter solstice arrived Wednesday and with it the shortest day of the year. It’s all uphill from here 🙂

I’m going to take some time off over the next seven days so posting will drop significantly, maybe completely. I have one significant article remaing that will probably be complete sometime early FridaySaturday. It’s an interview with Ann Cook, which is also the answer to the question – what Springfield player has been ‘capped’ by the US National Team? So be sure and swing by to get caught up on the individual that could arguably be considered the finest player to come out of our fair city.

If you are traveling, have a safe trip, and enjoy the season. Ciao!tantra dubai

Fuller To Casper

JB Marine vs Springfield SC

The action continues at Lake Country Soccer as the first Indoor session winds down. The photo above shows one of the more active rivalries as Rachel Lavoy of the Springfield SC (in white) battles along the boards against Maggie Heidiger of JB Marine in the HS Girls top division Monday evening.

There is additional news coming from the Dome. During the monthly board of directors meeting Monday evening, it was announced that Josh Fuller has submitted his resignation. Josh, along with his wife Christina, are headed for the Rocky Mountains and Casper Wyoming. Josh has taken a position with the Casper Park Board apparently. Good luck to Josh & Christina. Stay warm!

The interview with Josh was done by Jonothan Marquez of Magic Soccer in September of this year.sexiest escorts
