As if I wasn’t already feeling melancholy for missing the parties in Chicago following the Sox Series victory, now I realize that you can vote early and often in the MLS Goal of the Year contest. Just like in Chicago…
I pointed you to Freddie’s goal earlier this month, now I see the contest is set up so that it began with 25 nominations, it’s now down to 10 and will go to 5 early next month leading up to the announcement of the winner during the MLS Cup on November 13th. The final regular season Coaches Poll has been released. It has gotten tighter at the top although Chaminade continues to hold the #1 spot and CBC has moved into the #2 spot. My guess is that while Chaminade and CBC continue to distinguish themselves on the pitch in recent weeks, it is due to Chaminade losing Mike Roach due to a car accident following their win over SLUH last Saturday. DeSmet moved into the #4 slot Cape Central saw a slight move downward from #6 to #7.
