2:00 pm Weather Update from Coach Matt Huntley, Carthage who are hosts for the District tourney:
We have just decided to postpone. It’s just too wet.
Tomorrow are the semifinals. 4:30, 6:30
Wednesday is the final. 6:30
With the first round kicking off Saturday at the Fair Acres Soccer Complex in Carthage, the four games ended with no upsets. Using the traditional model (#1 v #8, #2 v #7, etc.) the results for the day were as follows:
#1 Carthage defeats Carl Junction 7 – 1
#2 Ozark defeats Aurora 9 – 1
#3 Cassville shuts out Monett 1 – 0
#4 Webb City shuts out Willard 4 – 0
That leaves the schedule for Monday (weather permitting) as follows:
Carthage will face Webb City in a rematch of their game last Monday (Oct 24th) on Senior night at Carthage. The result was a 1 – 1 tie which points to quite a battle today.
Ozark vs. Cassville will follow and this game has the greatest chance for an upset as the Schlictmann brothers and their teammates have the ability to score against most defenses.
I’ll let you know if I hear about any weather changes.
