Congratulations, or as I’m discovering from my HS correspondents, Props to Drury Assistant Coach Sarah McClellan who was recently named a WPSL 1st Team defender. Sarah is in her second year as a graduate assistant coach at Drury where she works with Head Coach Chris Baker. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland and plays for the Maryland Pride of the Women’s Professional Soccer League (WPSL) which is one of two pro circuits in the US and was recently ranked the #1 circuit in the US.
In addition to Sarah’s recognition, there were two players from the St. Louis Archers who were also recognized. Forward Lindsay Kennedy (Harris Stowe College) was a first team pick and her teammate, Meghan Marie Fowler-Finn (Washinton Univ. in St. Louis) was named a second team midfielder.
OK, show of hands. How many of you knew there was a women’s professional team in St. Louis? That’s what I thought. 2006 will be their second year, keep track of them via the link on my right sidebar folks!
