U15 Girls Final Set

The St. Louis SC U15 Girls moved into the finals of their age-bracket today despite losing 0-1 to the Texan’s. They will face PDA (NJ) at 12:45 pm EDT Sunday for the title. The game will be a rematch of yesterday’s game in which the St. Louis girls had to come from behind before winning 3-1. It will be interesting to hear from Chealsey about this match, if there was some strategy associated with resting some players based upon likely outcomes. Get some rest girls and good luck Sunday!

Google It

Do you enjoy reading Springfield Soccer ? Do you wish you had an easier way to stay up-to-date on the daily reports as well as other news sources like the Moxie blog, the Glendale Falcon feeds or maybe even the US Soccer website? Well, I have the answer. Google now allows you to customize their homepage with the information you want (weather, TV listings, movie listings, etc) and the ability to handle RSS feeds. What the heck is that? It’s a technology that goes out and queries Springfield Soccer for any new articles and then provides a link to the new titles on your Google homepage.

In order to customize your Google homepage you need to create an account. One way to do this is by having a Gmail address. I have 49 available to share so if you would like a new Gmail address as part of your new Google homepage, send me an email at ole at SGFsoccer.com and I’ll be happy to send you an invite. Then follow the instructions on the Google & SGFsoccer page on the right and have fun exploring the internet!

PS – there are a lot of ways to do this besides Google including using Firefox as your browser. If you’d like more information, feel free to email me and I will be happy to help.tantra dubai

National Youth Tourney Update

From the US Youth Soccer National Championship site:

The St. Louis Soccer Club Under-15 Girls (MO) defeated a talented PDA team, coming from behind to win 3-1. PDA’s Kiley Williams scored in the 24th minute only to have St. Louis’ Chealsey Russell (Kickapoo) retaliate with a goal in the 49th minute that tied the match. Julie King of St. Louis (Nerinx Hall), 22 minutes into the second half, broke the 1-1 tie and Blake Miller put the game away one minute later.

“The first half they (PDA) put on a clinic on how to play soccer, they just didn’t finish their chances,” said St. Louis coach Gary Miller. “We had to try and adjust and we finished our chances very will.”

Good news for Missouri girls soccer I’d say. One match to go against the Texans, who beat San Diego by the score of 5-1 after losing to the PDA (NJ) team yesterday by the score of 1-4. The St. Louis MO girls have to be favored now with a 2-0 record while Texas & NJ are 1-1 and San Diego is 0-2 in the round robin. Get out there and represent girls!women escorts dubai

Freddy’s New Car

I shouldn’t do this since I’m old enough to know that ‘keeping up’ is a never ending cycle but I’ve got to admit even I’m jealous, those 330i’s are sweet!

On a related note, Freddy and his teammates face the reigning English Premier League (EPL) Champions Chelsea (sorry Richard, wrong blue’s) Thursday evening. The game is being broadcast live on ESPN2 beginning at 7pm. There’s a good article in the Washington Post about the game, including an interview with John Harkes who spent seven years in the EPL including time with Frank Lampard, now the midfield leader for the Blue’s. Requires registration meaning an email address, et. al. independent escort search

National Youth Tourney

Games got underway today in Orlanda for the US Youth Soccer National Championships. There are four regions in the US, Missouri is part of Region II and qualified one team for the National Championships during the tournament earlier this month. That team, the St. Louis Soccer Club U15 girls, includes Chealsey Russell who will be a sophomore at Kickapoo this year. With four regions, there are four teams in each age group and the teams will play each other once. Following the round robin, the top two teams face off in a Final for the National Championship.

The website quoted a young man playing in the U17 age group, Real’s Dion Bubar-Hall,
“(Nationals) is the best experience of my life, great fields, great refs it is just an overall great experience.”

Game results for all of todays game can be found on the National Championship website. In the meantime, here are the results for the Under-15 Girls:

PDA Power (New Jersey) 4 vs Dallas Texans 90 Red (Texas North) 1
Goal Scorers: Rebecca Bentley (PDA) 8:00, 29:00, 34:00, Lauren McClintic (PDA) 40:00, Melissa Henderson (Texans) 57:00

St. Louis Soccer Club (Missouri) 2 vs San Diego Surf (California South) 1
Goal Scorers: Blake Miller (St. Louis) 11:00, 78:00, Grace Shevlin (Surf) 15:00

The Missouri girls will face PDA (NJ) Thursday followed by Texas on Friday with the Final scheduled for Sunday at 12:45pm EDT. I’ll have daily updates and as noted earlier, Chealsey has promised a first person account of her experiences when she returns.
