The Des Moines Menace are hosting the Central Conference Championships this weekend, a four team round robin featuring the Boulder Rapid Reserves, Chicago Fire Reserves and the Michigan Bucks as well as the host team. The Michigan Bucks defeated the Rapid Reserves 4-1 in OT while the Menace shut out the Fire Reserve 3-0, leading to tonight’s matchup in the final. The winner goes to the Final Four next weekend.
The games should be good preparation for the Menace who also face the KC Wizards on Wednesday evening as the final PDL team standing in the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup tournament. KC are the defending champions and enter the tournament with this match having earned a bye until now.
